For 14 defendants, their sentences for drug trafficking ranged from 15 months to 262 months in federal prison. The judge placed two people on probation and released one person for time served.
Two Texas men have been sentenced to times in federal prison on drug trafficking charges, according to a federal prosecutor. One of the East Texas men, a 24-year-old from Reklaw, pleaded guilty in March to distributing methamphetamine near a playground. He was sentenced on Oct. 4 to 100 months in federal prison by a judge for the Eastern District of Texas.

Four men have been taken into custody on federal narcotics charges in connection with the drug haul. Police say that the methamphetamine would have generated more than $1 million in revenue for the alleged drug gang if it had been sold on the street.
A Texas man was ordered remanded without bond on Oct. 29 after entering a not guilty plea to federal drug charges that included possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute. Media accounts indicate that the man was brought into custody by members of the Waco Police Department's Drug Enforcement Unit after quantities of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia were discovered during a search of his home.

A narcotics case that began with a tip received by the Texas Department of Public Safety reached its conclusion on Sept. 17 when a Hidalgo County man was sentenced to nine years in prison followed by four years of supervised release for distributing methamphetamine. In return for the man's guilty plea, prosecutors agreed to drop a charge of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance.
Federal authorities in Texas have charged nine San Antonio-area men with drug distribution and money laundering. The federal indictments were unsealed on Sept. 7.
According to a Van Zandt County news release, 11 people have been indicted in federal court in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas for their alleged participation in a drug ring. The indictments were announced on Aug. 30.
News sources report that 28 people in Central Texas were arrested in a large drug investigation. The people who were arrested were allegedly responsible for dealing drugs throughout the region. The arrests occurred on Aug. 16 in the Waco and Killeen areas.
In early August, a Texas judge sentenced three Jacksonville men to federal prison for participating in drug trafficking crimes. Each of the defendants, ages 28, 32 and 33, had earlier pleaded guilty to drug possession with the intent to distribute.
